AgriThera was founded by prominent Emory researchers and drug developers, Drs. Dennis Liotta and Stephen Traynelis. Dr. Liotta is best known for his role in developing over a dozen FDA-approved drugs and is also a co-founder of multiple startup companies. Dr. Traynelis is a co-founder of NeurOp Inc., which completed successful phase 1 clinical trials. This duo has collaborated for over two decades, producing dozens of papers and multiple patent families describing first-in-class subunit-selective glutamate receptor modulators.

In complement to the exceptional preclinical expertise of the co-founders, AgriThera has assembled an outstanding scientific advisory board to assist with clinical development. Dr. Dennis Dlugos was instrumental in the clinical evaluation and approval of Epidiolex for epilepsy. Dr. Jackie French is a a founder and director of the Epilepsy Study Consortium, an academic group that has performed early phase clinical trials in epilepsy.
